It has been about eight years since we've had direct access to glorious wines from our old friend in Barbaresco, Andrea Sottimano.

Some may recall when Andrea (winemaker/owner) visited the shop and poured his wonderful wines. While it's been way too long since we've had his wines, with a change in local importers, we are thrilled to bring his wines back via our "almost direct imports" work.

Andrea's style is for seamless wines of power and complexity that drink well now but will age superbly. They are absolutely gorgeous.

Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2022
All this fruit is from the celebrated Barbaresco “Basarin vineyard.” The 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo, Andrea’s declassified Barbaresco - makes for an exceptional deal. In a few years these vines will all be in the Sottimano single vineyard Basarin Barbaresco at three times the price. $31.00

Barbera d’Alba Superiore DOC “Pairolero” 2022
Absolute star wine in ‘22. from two vineyards in Neive: Basarin and San Cristofaro: unfiltered, made in large oak barrels. Sultry, aromatic, brilliant fruit: lovely wine now, but it will be quite something down the road too. $30.00

Vino Rosso “Mate” 2023
Sadly, not a lot of Brachetto (Piedmontese red) makes it to Oregon, but two great ones do - Correggia’s Anthos, and now, Sottimano’s Mate. The folks at Vinous nailed it, writing “Crushed flowers, mint, rose petals…aromatic, impeccably balanced… serve chilled, it makes a terrific warm weather red.” $22.00

Dolcetto d’Alba DOC “Bric del Salto” 2023
A dynamic wine making the case for why people should drink more Dolcetto, the by-passed jewel grape of northern Italy.
$22.00
